The documentary follows the journey of the new stage show from its earliest stages of development through to its world premiere in Dublin in October 2013. It gives unique insight of the show’s creators, who brought Irish dance to the world stage 20 years ago with Riverdance, and now want to take this form of dance to a whole new level.
It follows the casting of world class dancers, though an online talent search, who are not only at the top of their profession in Irish but also in other dance forms.
It goes into the rehearsal rooms with choreographer David Bolger and Irish Dance Choreographer John Carey as they bring the multi cultural fusion of Irish, Latin and Afro-Cuban dance together and the creation of spectacular dance numbers. The documentary talks to the creatives in how their desire to bring new cutting edge technology in the form of high definition screens and digitally projected imagery creating backdrops which helps drive the show’s story narrative.
Through the documentary we get to meet the cast, the amazing band members and all the key creatives as we travel with them on their journey to opening night at The Bord Gáis Energy Theatre Dublin of this spectacular new dance and music stage show ahead of its sell out tour to China, Canada and the United States.
